The mayor of Pitman says 18-year-old Victor Rodriguez went into a lake last night as part of a scavenger hunt and was not seen again.
Authorities say two people tried to help but were overwhelmed. Both are OK.
Crews spent 17 hours searching for him.
Pitman High School put off exams on Monday.
